They will come to Australia next week to celebrate the ANZAC Saturday, April 26 at 6 am : ceremony at the cemetery of Fromelles . Each April 25 , Australians and New Zealanders celebrate ANZAC Day in memory of the bloody battle of Gallipoli in 1916. Over time , this date has become a symbol of the sacrifices made by Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (which gave the acronym ANZAC ) during the First World War. And as the subjects of the southern lands of the British Empire have also shown a lot on the front between Ypres and the Pas- de- Calais, the ANZAC Day is celebrated in Weppes . In this centenary year of the beginning of the Great War, three important appointments are set for this week ANZAC . At Fromelles , Monday, April 21 at 19h at Saint -Jean- Baptiste , a concert by students musicians Hasting School and St Michael College of Hobart in Tasmania ( South Australia ) . Free . At Aubers , Wednesday, April 23 at 20h at Saint -Vaast , a concert by the 150 musicians of the Perth Modern School ( Western Australia ) . Free . Fromelles , Saturday, April 26 at 6am the Pheasant Wood Cemetery , near the museum will host the ceremony known Aube during the Anzac day . During the commemoration, a tribute will be paid to all the soldiers who died during the various conflicts in which they were engaged . At Fromelles in particular honors are rendered to many soldiers who fell in July 1916.
